LAURA LANCASTER is a New York City based writer, specializing in lyrics and book for musical theatre. 

Laura has a bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s College (Notre Dame, IN), where she wrote her first musical Tailored! and graduated with a double B.A. in English Literature and English Writing.

In 2012, Laura earned her M.F.A. from the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she wrote Marigolds, a short musical comedy about divorce, and Invisible, a full-length musical about a 13-year-old invisible boy and his misadventures in 1950's America. 

Recent works include The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, a one-act adaptation of Washington Irving's classic novella, and Drella, a children's musical based on the Cinderella fairy tale. 

Laura is a member of the Musical Theatre Factory and the Lehman Engel BMI Musical Theatre Workshop. Laura is also an animator. She recently premiered her short film Airplane (music by Jahn Sood) at the Musical Theater Factory’s Musical Film Festival in August 2014.
